Chandra's Story
Three years ago, Chandra Rebeiro was a single mother working two jobs and going to school for a nursing degree to better her life. She couldn't qualify for a low interest rate loan for a car. Through More Than Wheels, Chandra learned how to manage her finances, she repaired her credit, and she got a low interest car loan. Today, Chandra is a Registered Nurse working at a major medical center. And she's happy in a new marriage. Getting a reasonably priced new car with an affordable loan was a catalyst for that change.
NHPR Profile of More Than Wheels Client
By Deborah Schachter: "Typical car loans come at high rates of interest - even higher for people whose credit is not top-notch. So people who can least afford major car repairs and gas-guzzling vehicles end up driving unreliable cars that get bad mileage. More Than Wheels gives financial literacy training and guarantees their loans - so they can afford reliable, fuel-efficient cars. Diane Brodericks is one of those people."Listen to Diane's Story [http://www.nhpr.org/node/20464]
